Short Introduction:
Bale Mountains National Park, 400 kilometers southeast of Addis Ababa, has beautifully diversified scenery. The afro-montane Senetti Plateau, which climbs to nearly 4,000m and includes the highest mountain in the southern Ethiopian highlands, is located at a high altitude. Numerous glacial lakes and bogs dot this undulating plateau, which is flanked by higher volcanic ridges and summits.
Duration: 05 Nights/ 06 Days
Itinerary
Day 1: Trek from Dinsho to Sodota ( 3500 m asl).
On your Bale Mountains tours day one most of the trip was roughly flat and camping at the beauty of web valley; the chance to see rare and endangered Ethiopia Wolf (5-6hrs walk). Camping
Day 2: Sodota -Keyrensa ( 3700 m asl).
Today proceed to Keyrensa Chance to see More Ethiopia Wolf and prey birds. It takes 6-7hrs. Camping
Day 3: Keyrensa – wasama( 3900m asl)
On this day walking in Erica moorland zone Chance to see klipspringer and francolins. It takes 5-6hrs. Camping
Day 4:Wasama- Gerba guracha via Wasama and Batu mountains.
Today after breakfast hiking to Wasama peak (4100m asl) and proceed to Batu mountain(4307m asl) Overnight at Gerba Guracha campsite and lake. It takes 6-7hrs. Camping
Day 5: Gerbaguracha – Rafu Via Tullu Deemtu (6-7 hrs).
This day full day walking on the top of Sanetti plateau; the largest afro-alpine area in Africa <4000m asl and chance to see the Second highest point in Africa (4377 m asl). Overnight incredible Rafu campsite(4000m as) which is rock pillars caused by lava flow. Camping
Day 6: Rafu -Bale mountain Lodge via Rira.(7-8 hrs).
On this day trekking to Harenna forest (the Second tropical rain forest in Ethiopia via the Harenna escarpment. Optional to meet the car in Rira or Bale mountain Lodge.
