Short Introduction:
Among the list of Ethiopian national parks, Bale Mountain is the richest in its fauna and flora variety. The BMNP is Africa’s largest territory greater than 3000 meters above sea level (asl). Tullu Dimtuu, the tallest peak in the BMNP, is Ethiopia’s second-highest peak, standing at 4377 meters above sea level. The park comprises an Afroalpine plateau over 3500 meters above sea level, the continent’s largest Afroalpine environment, as well as a large tract of moist tropical forest, Ethiopia’s second-largest.

Itinerary
Day 1: Trek Dinsho To Sodota
Trek Duration: (5-6hours)
Today’s walk will reward you with a chance of seeing bird species that are endemic to Ethiopia, Habera waterfall most of the walk will be through web valley where you can see endemic Ethiopian wolf.
Night Sodota campsite(3500m asl)
Day 2: Hike Sodota to Keyrensa
Trek Duration: (7 – 8 hours)
Today you will have a bale mountains trekking to Keyrensa enjoying the magnificent Keyrensa valley and landscape. You will also chance to see more wolves and different birds.
Night in Keyrensa campsite (3800 m asl).
Day 3: Trek Keyrensa to Rafu (5 – 6 hours)
Trek Duration: (5 – 6 hours)
Today you will be walking through a beautiful landscape. Near Rafu you will enjoy a panoromic view of Rafu rock pillars caused by lava flow.
Night at Rafu campsite(4000 m asl).
Day 4: Trek from Rafu to Rira
Trek Duration: (5- 6 hours)
Proceed to the marvelous view of the Harenna escarpment to the beginning of the Harenna forest chance to see Klipspringer and Abyssinian Hare.
Night at Rira campsite(2800 m asl).
Day 5: Walking Tour inside the Harenna forest
After a late breakfast walk to the largest tropical rainforest and cloudy forest chance to see a Bamboo waterfall train, Colombus monkey, etc.

Day 6: Trek back to Sanetti plateau and Camping at Humburi Campsite
Trek Duration: (7 – 8 hours)
Returning through the Erica vegetation zone, where most of the routes are steep and there is only one main road, the scenery is breathtaking, and there is an opportunity to spot rare and endangered indigenous Ethiopian wolves and prey birds on the plateau.

Day 7: Trek on the top of the plateau
Trek Duration: (5 – 6 hours)
After breakfast, drive to Ethiopia’s highest point, Tullu Deemtu (4377 m asl), however, the weather will be windy and cold due to the elevation. Chance to witness endemic Gaint lobelia, Stark’s Hare, endemic Gaint molerat, and other endemic species.
Night at Gerbaguracha campingground (4000 m asl).
Day 8: Proceed Hikking to Denka via Batu (4,307 m asl).
Today’s morning trek will take you to Gerba Guracha’s afro-alpine lake, where you will have the opportunity to witness a variety of water birds. However, the routes will be more up and down, traveling through the breathtaking Worgona Valley, where mineral spring water is the sole option.
Denka campground (O/N) (3400 m asl).
Day 9: Trek from Denka to Dinsho – End of Bale Mountains Trekking
Trek Duration: (3- 4 hours)
After breakfast, drive through Erica zones and admire the beauty of the locals, with the chance to witness a variety of Ethiopian indigenous birds such as Rouget’s Rain, Blue-Winged Goose, and others.
