Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Addis Ababa.
Meet and greet, get assisted for transfer. Spend the remaining day on leisure in preparation for 2 weeks Ethiopian Historic Route journey. Hotel
Day 2: City Tour in Addis Ababa.
The day is dedicated for sightseeing of Addis Ababa that includes; the National Museum, famous for hosting the Humanoid fossil “LUCY”, Ethnographic Museums, Trinity cathedral and Mercato, the largest open air market in Africa. During dinner briefing about the tour. Hotel
Day 3: Fly to Bahir dar.
Pick up from Bahir dar airport and transfer to your hotel, very short break for check in and preparation for Excursion to visit the Blue Nile Falls that takes you out of the city for a drive on a gravel road through the farmlands and small villages of the Amhara People. Meet local people on their everyday activities especially in the mill house where mostly women gather to get their grains grinded. Retrace the same way back to your hotel for late lunch and leisure afternoon at the lakeside situated hotel. Hotel
Day 4: Boat Trip on lake Tana monasteries and proceed to Gondar
At 8am just walk to the lake and then you will be board on the boat that starts from the hotel for trip on Lake Tana to visit Monasteries on the islands of Lake Tana. You visit the monastery churche of Ura Kidhane Mihret that is the most famous monastery and has an important collection of religious icons from the 16th to 18th centuries. Ura Kidane Mihret is known for its paintings and small museum. Ura Kidhane Mihret, are decorated from floor to ceiling with incredibly vivid images from Christian traditions. Return back to hotel for lunch and transfer over land to Gonder by minivan, with a detour to Awera Amba village; that is becoming famous for advanced rural living style that has first started due to a philosophy of an individual in the village that has dared to change some age old tradition like role division among different genders, and then retrace your way back to main road to continue driving to Gonder which is some 120km far from this point. Day 5: Gondar and city tour
AM returning drive to Gonder. Afternoon is dedicated for sightseeing of Gonder; the 16th century Royal enclosure famous for its many castles that is known as the “African Camelot”. Fasiledes pool, this is the special place where every year on January the Ethiopian Orthodox church highly celebrated baptizing on Epiphany/ Timket festival inside the pool. Quara Hotel
On your way to Simien Mountains you will stop at Walaka Falsha Village. Falasha is the local name for Ethiopian Jews; this used to be one of their residences before they were air lifted to Israel. Simien Lodge is about 122km from Gonder, on mainly tarmac road. You will arrive in the lodge in good time for lunch and check-in. Day 6: AM drive to the Semien Mountains National Park for a short Hike.
Simein Mountain National Park is an endangered natural world heritage site as a home for endemic faunas and floras inside.

Day 7: Drive to Axum alongside the Semien Mountains range with spectacular scenery.
Today you will have a moderate drive on gravel road with leg stretch walk in between. Hotel
Day 8: Full day Axum city sightseeing.
Morning you will have a city excursion in Axum.
The archeological sites and St’ Mary of Tsion (Zion) Church the final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant. Meet the locals, visiting villages and you will see the Tigray woman’s known in brewing local beverage known as Tela. Hotel
Day 09: Drive to Mekele
You will visit some of the most famous rock hewn churches of Tigray: Digum Sellasie, Abreha We Astbeha & Wukro Cherkos. Hotel.
Day 10: Drive to the home of an extra ordinary architectural monolithic rock hewn churches, Lalibela
Beautiful mountain scenery on the way to Lalibela via korem.Today you will meet the Amhara people, their way of harvesting, and village visit. Hotel.
Day 11: Lalibela, visit monolithic rock hewn churches.
AM, you will have a short drive to visit the first groups of Lalibela churches.
Visit the Amazing rock hewn churches of Lalibela rated as the eighth wonder of the world by many authors. Hotel
Day 12:Fly back to Addis Ababa to complete Ethiopian Historic Route tour.
On arrival you will have a time for leisure and/or shopping.
